Penmark is built to keep student work private. Everything you do in Penmark — imported PDFs, your Apple Pencil marks, rubrics, comments, and grades — is stored only on your device. Penmark has no account, no server, and no cloud backend.
Nothing. Penmark does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or student data. We have no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising SDKs. No data ever leaves your device unless you choose to export or share a graded PDF or a grades CSV using the system share sheet.
Any student PDFs, names, or grades you add stay on your device under your control. Because Penmark never transmits this information, it is not accessible to us or to any third party. Deleting the app, or using Settings → “Delete All Data,” permanently removes it.
The optional one-time “Penmark Unlimited” unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction; Penmark receives only a signed confirmation that the purchase is valid. We never see your payment details.
